Her professional accomplishments include her work with several local advisors, where she is proud to serve her community. Mellie is currently studying for her RICP designation to further enhance her expertise.
Beyond her career, Mellie finds fulfillment in supporting her children's sports and academics, traveling, and visiting museums. Known for her positive energy and commitment to service, Mellie takes pride in empowering clients to build secure, lasting financial futures.
Joel Cooper
Chief Finance Officer (CFO)
Joel began his career in manufacturing, working alongside his father in the family’s clothing factory after earning his CPA in Durban, South Africa. In 1977, he co-founded *Gotcha*, a pioneering surf brand that grew into a $200 million global company. After its sale, he partnered with *Lost International*, helping expand the brand into apparel, surfboards, and action sports gear, where he remains a key figure today.
With over 40 years of experience in finance, manufacturing, and brand growth, Joel now serves as CFO of Golden Mean Financial Services, bringing his deep financial expertise and strategic vision to the firm’s mission of wealth protection and retirement planning.

After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Economics, Christopher has held various positions in executive management, operations, compliance, insurance, and marketing within areas of investment management, financial services, and banking. At his previous position, he led 3 separate divisions and managed 30 employees. He has won multiple awards and accolades in recognition for delivering extraordinary client service.
